Kitchen Respray FAQs
Q: What is the process for respraying a kitchen?
A: The doors, drawers, skirting, and other easily removable items are taken off and prepared and sprayed in our workshop. The fixed parts, such as cornice, side panels, pelmet, and display units are sprayed in place.
Q: How many coats of paint are applied during the process?
A: We apply layers of primer until the kitchen looks well covered, and then we sand the primer and apply the top coat color three times around the kitchen.
Q: What type of paint is used for respraying a kitchen?
A: We use a specialist polyurethane paint that is tough, durable, and tactile, and our suppliers can match it to designer colors.
Q: How do I arrange a quote for respraying my kitchen?
A: You can give us a call to discuss your requirements or send us an email with your details and requirements.
Q: What sort of disruption should I expect during the respraying process?
A: The kitchen will be out of use while we spray the fixed parts in situ. This part of the process usually takes a day depending on the size of the kitchen. Otherwise, the kitchen is left usable but without doors and drawer fronts while we prepare and spray them in our workshop.
Q: Do I need to empty the cupboards before respraying the kitchen?
A: It is not necessary to empty all the cupboards as long as the contents are pushed back far enough so that we can seal the cupboards. However, we do ask that any display units and work surfaces are clear.
Q: Should I change my worktop before or after respraying my kitchen?
A: We recommend changing the worktop before respraying the kitchen, although we ask that you please do not silicone up any panels that require paint.
Q: Can I change the handles on my kitchen cabinets during the respraying process?
A: Yes, you can change the handles, and you are not restricted to the existing handle centers. We can fill the existing handle holes and drill for new handles when we refit the doors and drawer fronts. We can also change the hinges and drawer runners.
Q: Should I paint the walls before or after respraying my kitchen?
A: It's best to paint the walls after the respraying process is complete. Our masking tape can pull paint from the walls or ceiling, so painting them beforehand may result in additional touch-ups.
Q: Can you construct new units or panels if I want to make alterations to my kitchen during the respraying process?
A: Yes, we have workshop facilities to construct new units and panels, and we can accommodate any alterations you want to make to your kitchen.
Q: Can I deliver the doors and drawers to you for respraying?
A: Yes, you can deliver them to us, and we will paint them at our workshop. Once they are ready, we can arrange for you to collect them. We can also provide water-based paint to match your color if there are any areas you wish to paint yourself on-site.
